Happy {Belated} Thanksgiving

I was hoping to post earlier in the week, but was feeling under the weather.  Plus, my job has been kind of stressful lately, which hasn't helped, and I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything ready for Thanksgiving.

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!   I want to thank you for stopping by to read my blog.  Whether you are a regular follower, or if you just pop in every now and then, I really appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to drop in for a little while.

My family always has so much fun when we get together and Thanksgiving was no exception.   I am so grateful for my family.  I just had to make the apple pies and the turkey, and everyone else brought a side dish to pitch in.  I cannot imagine how my mom pulled this entire meal off for all seven of us kids when we were little.  Everything was delicious and what takes hours to prepare was gobbled up in about half an hour.

After we ate, we went to the park to play a quick game of kick ball before it got dark.  Then it was back home for apple and pumpkin pie and coffee.  Followed by Just Dance 4 and a few rounds of the game Apples to Apples.
Anyway, here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving tables.

This is an Instagram picture from my niece, Heather.  Thanks Heather ;)
I just kept things simple with white table cloths and cloth napkins.  I combined some of my good china with my everyday white dishes, on gold chargers.  I also mixed in my mom's (real) silverware with my everyday (fake) silverware.
I used several small, low profile fresh flower arrangements and some gold votives for a touch of sparkle.
Here's a picture of my mom's famous refrigerator rolls that are to die for.  Perfect for making a little turkey sandwich the next day too.
The dresser that I refinished this past summer made a great sideboard to hold extra china since my kitchen is so tiny.
No black Friday shopping for me today.  I can't imagine fighting those crowds.  I might do a little online shopping, but I'll just be relaxing and cleaning up the house to get ready for my son's birthday party tomorrow.

Again, thanks for dropping in and I hope you have a great weekend.
